Prayer Journal

Sept 19, 2018 - To be honest I've never made a prayer journal before. I have always been able to look back and see where God has answered my prayers. There a some prayers I'm sure He answered with "No" and I've just forgotten them. There are some I'm sure He has said "Wait" and I may still be waiting and when He answers I'll be able to say "Wow, I forgot I even asked about that". Those I never really spoke and He knew the desires of my heart are blessings I can't even praise Him enough for. So today, my plan is to begin creating a prayer journal of my conversations with God. I don't expect anyone to read these except me and God, but if you stumble upon this journal, know that our prayers never go unheard or unanswered.

Prayer Sept 19, 2018 - Father, today we continue our trip visiting family in Pennsylvania. It's been a wonderful, terrible trip so far with really great times connecting and reconnecting with family and yet several of us have had bouts of stomach illness. Please continue to keep us safe on our journey and heal our sickness. Help me in particular to give grace and be a blessing to my family. It's easy to become weary and disappointed. Help me to not take the easy path, but take the better path of forgiveness for past hurts. This trip marks the beginning of another new chapter in my marriage to Yankeebelle. We are in the process of buying the home we are currently living in. Father please bless this process and let the transfer of this home be a blessing to Mr. Garrity, Spanky and to us. Let us use this home as a meeting place and blessing to your people. Help us to create in this home a place where family and friends can gather to share our lives, to fellowship, to pray. Father I thank you for the blessing of this trip. It has been a much needed break for Laura and I as we continue to seek your will for this next chapter of our lives. Thank you for bringing me to Colton's and for giving me the talents to be a blessing to Ben, Aaron, Christie, my fellow workers and to Mr Landers. I pray that I continue to be a blessing to them all for as long as you have ordained that I be employed there. Father I pray for guidance as we consider starting the prayer breakfast once more for the men of OTS. If I am to lead then open those doors, speak the words I am to say and let the blessings flow to these men. Father I pray for guidance and inspiration as I put together a team for the Evangelism and Outreach team for the Capital Campaign for First Christian. Guide me to the people whom you have chosen for this team. Bless me Father and give me a heart for you. Guide my steps, my thoughts, my heart as I seek more of you and less of me. I love you Father. In Jesus precious name. Amen

Prayer 9/25/2018 - Father, thank you for your many blessings. Thank you for a wonderful vacation with family and for keeping us safe while we traveled. Thank you for the awesome beauty and power displayed in your creation at Niagara Falls. Thank you for the repairs made to Laura's Jeep and the fact that it was not as expensive as the estimate. Today I pray for Laura's safety as she delivers mail. The Jeep needs an alignment and is very tricky to drive. Keep her on the road and safe as she performs her work. Keep her healthy and remind her constantly of your presence at times when she gets frustrated. Father I pray for my family to come to know you better, for my sons-in-law to hear you calling their hearts to you. Give them a sense of your presence and lead them to bring their families to you. Father, I'm being asked to lead the men's prayer breakfast for the men of OTS and the other halfway house. I have a heart for these men. Please tell me if this is a ministry you wish me to lead. I fear that I am not worthy of leading them because of my own struggles with addictions. Help me to confess and repent of those things in my life that are keeping me from being closer to you. Father, help us as we navigate the purchase of this house and let it become a blessing to our family and friends. Help us to use this house to honor you. Father I pray for our Life Group. Please give us wisdom as we move forward and help us to make the right decisions for us and for the group as a whole. Father help me to deal with my resentment of Kerry for the things he does that annoy me. Father in all things I praise you. Help me to be the man you have created me to be. Help me to dream big dreams and think big thoughts and praise big praises. In Jesus precious name, Amen.
